Everything you need to know about the Weed Farm in GTA V Online
The Weed Farm is one of the five businesses you can purchase through a Motorcycle Club. It has never been the strongest of them, but the 2022 sell-value buff, The Criminal Enterprises quality-of-life changes, and the Smoke on the Water boost from Money Fronts have made it a much better buy than its old reputation suggests.
Like the other MC businesses as well as the Bunker, the Weed Farm is not quite completely passive income. Product accrues on its own, but the profit only lands once you complete Sell Missions.

GTA V Online Weed Farm Best Location
As with all GTA Online businesses, the only things that make one location better than another are price and convenience. The farms themselves are identical wherever you buy.
Here are all four Weed Farm locations and their prices in GTA V Online:
San Chianski Mountain Range (GTA$ 715,000)
Mount Chiliad (GTA$ 805,200)
Elysian Island (GTA$ 1,072,500)
Downtown Vinewood (GTA$ 1,358,500)
If you purchased the Counterfeit Cash Factory, the Cocaine Lockup, and the Methamphetamine Lab in the locations we recommended (Grand Senora Desert and Alamo Sea), the best Weed Farm location is San Chianski Mountain Range: the cheapest of the four and the closest to that cluster, if still a slightly annoying drive in bulk sell sessions.
Some players prefer Downtown Vinewood for its short city sell routes, especially paired with a city Nightclub. It works, but city traffic and other players make Los Santos deliveries riskier outside private sessions.
Either way, keep your businesses close to each other so you can chain sell missions without driving across the whole of San Andreas. A nearby Bunker rounds out a profitable bulk sell rotation.
Compare every farm's income, setup cost, and map position on our Weed Farms hub, and check the business discounts page before you buy: MC businesses rotate through weekly discounts regularly.
How To Set Up A Weed Farm Business in GTA V Online
For each of the MC Club businesses you'll need to complete an initial setup mission.
For the Weed Farm, that means stealing a van full of supplies and bringing it back to the farm. It's straightforward, but if you're not sure what to do, follow these steps:
Once you purchase the business, drive to it and go inside.
Access the laptop and select Set Up.
Drive to the location indicated and get in the van.
Since The Criminal Enterprises you can do this in an invite-only session, so other players never get a chance to destroy or steal your supplies.
Once you get the van back to your Weed Farm, the mission is complete.
After the setup mission you're technically ready for business, but hold off on your first resupply: the farm only becomes worthwhile once you've bought a couple of upgrades.
GTA V Online Weed Farm Upgrades
Once you've completed the setup mission, go back to the laptop inside your Weed Farm to purchase upgrades. Here are the options and their prices:
Equipment Upgrade (GTA$ 990,000): speeds up production, increases product value, and makes supplies stretch twice as far.
Staff Upgrade (GTA$ 273,000): speeds up production and increases product value.
Security Upgrade (GTA$ 313,500): doubles the time between raids, from 6 hours of registered play to 12.
Buy the Equipment and Staff Upgrades before you run your first batch. Together they lift a full furthest-buyer sale from GTA$ 243,000 to GTA$ 315,000 and cut the fill time from 8 hours to 5 hours 20 minutes. The Equipment Upgrade matters twice over for the Weed Farm because it also halves your supply bill.
The Security Upgrade is optional. Raids are avoidable for free by staying unregistered or selling early (see the raid rules below), but if you own a mansion from A Safehouse in the Hills, combining its security upgrade with this one blocks Weed Farm raids entirely.
GTA V Online Weed Farm Max Payout
Setup | Local (80) | Furthest buyer (80) | Supply cost | Net / batch | Fill time | Net $/hr |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
No upgrades | GTA$ 162,000 | GTA$ 243,000 | ~GTA$ 240,000 | ~GTA$ 3,000 | ~8 hrs | ~GTA$ 400 |
Equipment + Staff | GTA$ 210,000 | GTA$ 315,000 | GTA$ 120,000 | GTA$ 195,000 | ~5.3 hrs | ~GTA$ 36,500 |
Reaching the upgraded row costs Equipment GTA$ 990,000 + Staff GTA$ 273,000 (GTA$ 1,263,000 total); the Security Upgrade (GTA$ 313,500) has no effect on income. Net assumes bought supplies and the furthest buyer; a sale event or a busy public lobby's High Demand bonus pays more.

The grid above shows how the payout changes when you change different variables of your business. Here are the real Weed Farm max payout numbers since the April 2022 sell-value buff:
A fully upgraded farm holds 80 units of product worth GTA$ 3,937.50 each.
A full batch sells for GTA$ 210,000 locally, or GTA$ 315,000 selling to the furthest buyer (+50%).
Without upgrades, a full batch is worth GTA$ 162,000 to GTA$ 243,000.
Supplies cost GTA$ 15,000 per segment (GTA$ 75,000 for a full bar). An upgraded batch consumes GTA$ 120,000 of supplies; without the Equipment Upgrade supplies stretch half as far, so a full base batch costs about GTA$ 240,000 and barely breaks even.
Selling in a busier public lobby adds a High Demand bonus of 2.5% per rival player in the session.
For the absolute maximum you'd take the Equipment and Staff Upgrades, sell to the furthest buyer, and steal your supplies. For value per hour, though, buy supplies once you're upgraded: steal missions are slow, and the GTA$ 120,000 you save is earned faster with a quick Sightseer or Headhunter run before you resupply from the laptop.
The modern multiplier is the Smoke on the Water weed front from the Money Fronts update: owning it permanently raises Weed Farm sell values by 35%, pushing a fully upgraded furthest-buyer sale to about GTA$ 425,250. That single boost moves the farm from the bottom of the MC pack to genuinely competitive.
How to Run a Weed Farm In GTA V Online
In case it's not clear, here's how all MC Club businesses, as well as the Bunker, work:
Get supplies (by buying or stealing)
Wait for product to be made
Sell product
Repeat
Some people call this passive income because the product creation part is passive. (For genuinely hands-off options, check out How to Get Completely Passive Income in GTA V Online.)
Most people start a session by topping up supplies, then go do whatever they feel like, be it the Cayo Perico Heist or gathering Daily Collectibles, while the farm ticks away.
A fully upgraded farm takes 5 hours 20 minutes to fill (4 minutes per unit); without upgrades it's a full 8 hours. If you own a mansion from A Safehouse in the Hills, its assistant can triple one business's production speed each real-life day, cutting a full weed batch to about 1 hour 47 minutes.
Two quality-of-life changes arrived with The Criminal Enterprises (July 2022), after this guide was first written:
Resupplying and selling now work in invite-only sessions, so you never have to expose a sale to a public lobby.
Product accrues even while you're not registered as an MC President. You only need to register to buy supplies or launch a sale.
That second point also covers raids: they can only trigger while you're registered as an MC President, roaming outside, with at least a full bar of stock. Keep stock low or stay unregistered and you'll never see one. The Security Upgrade doubles the raid timer from 6 to 12 hours of registered play, and pairing it with the mansion security upgrade blocks Weed Farm raids entirely.
Selling solo is comfortable as long as you don't sit on a full batch: 20 units or fewer always gives you a single delivery vehicle on a 45 minute solo timer, worth up to GTA$ 78,750 sold to the furthest buyer when upgraded. A good rhythm is a sale at every bar and a quarter of stock. The missions themselves work like simpler Bunker sell missions if you need a refresher on execution.
If you own a Nightclub, the farm also unlocks a second, fully passive stream: assign a technician to Organic Produce and the club accrues weed on its own at GTA$ 2,025 per unit (about GTA$ 6,075 an hour with the nightclub Equipment Upgrade), up to GTA$ 162,000 with all five storage floors. This is a separate stash, not your farm stock: it consumes no farm supplies and keeps accruing with the farm bone dry. The farm just has to be set up and open, so never shut it down. Prefer one dashboard for everything? The Master Control Terminal in the Arcade lets you resupply and sell every business from one place.
Is The Weed Farm Worth It In GTA V Online
Out of the five MC Club businesses, the Weed Farm sits fourth for income. On a fully upgraded sale to the furthest buyer, a full batch brings GTA$ 315,000: ahead of Document Forgery (GTA$ 157,500), but behind the Counterfeit Cash Factory (GTA$ 367,500), the Methamphetamine Lab (GTA$ 446,250), and the Cocaine Lockup (GTA$ 525,000).
The total setup cost, including the San Chianski Mountain Range location and the two recommended upgrades, is GTA$ 1,978,000. Buying supplies, expect to make that back in roughly 54 hours of production. That's active production time, not grinding: the farm fills while you do other work.
The 2026 verdict changes if you commit to the weed theme. Owning Smoke on the Water lifts every sale by 35% (about GTA$ 425,250 to the furthest buyer), which raises the net per batch to roughly GTA$ 305,000 and cuts the payback to around 35 hours. Add the Nightclub's Organic Produce accrual and the mansion production boost, and the humble farm becomes a respectable earner.
So, is the Weed Farm worth it? Not as your first MC business: buy the Cocaine Lockup, Meth Lab, and Cash Factory first. But as the fourth business in a bulk sell rotation, or the anchor of a Smoke on the Water setup, it finally pays its way.
Why Is My GTA V Online Weed Farm Not Producing?
If your Weed Farm stops working, here's the checklist Rockstar Support offers to get it producing product again.
Question: What should I do if my Motorcycle Club business is not producing any product?
Answer: Whether you manage the business through the Nightclub, the Master Control Terminal, or your Motorcycle Club laptop, check that all of the following are true:
The Set-Up Mission for the business has been completed
The business has supplies available
If you manage it from the Nightclub, a Nightclub Technician is assigned to the desired product
You are playing while registered as a Motorcycle Club President
Product levels should rise within 30 to 50 minutes of play once those conditions are met. (Since The Criminal Enterprises, stock also accrues while you're unregistered, but registering while you troubleshoot rules that variable out.)
If the business still won't produce, try the following steps:
Shut down the business.
Play online in a public session for more than 30 minutes.
Re-open the business and play as a Motorcycle Club President, making sure the conditions above are met.
Weed Farm FAQ
Is the Weed Farm worth it in 2026?
On its own it's mid-tier: fourth of the five MC businesses at about GTA$ 36,500 net an hour. It becomes genuinely good with Smoke on the Water (+35% sell value, about GTA$ 425,250 per furthest-buyer sale) or as a free feeder for the Nightclub's Organic Produce.
How long does the Weed Farm take to fill?
5 hours 20 minutes fully upgraded, 8 hours without upgrades. A mansion's daily production boost cuts a full batch to about 1 hour 47 minutes.
Can I sell Weed Farm stock solo?
Yes. Keep it to 20 units or fewer and you'll always get a single delivery vehicle, worth up to GTA$ 78,750 sold to the furthest buyer when upgraded, with a 45 minute solo timer.
Should I buy or steal supplies?
Once you own the Equipment Upgrade, buy: a full batch needs GTA$ 120,000 of supplies, earned faster with Sightseer or Headhunter than by grinding slow steal missions. Without the Equipment Upgrade, bought supplies barely break even, so steal or upgrade first.
Does the Nightclub sell my Weed Farm stock?
No. A technician on Organic Produce accrues a separate stash (GTA$ 2,025 per unit, up to GTA$ 162,000 fully expanded) without touching farm stock or supplies. The farm only needs to be set up and open, and the Smoke on the Water boost does not apply to Nightclub sales.
What is the best Weed Farm location?
The farms are identical, so pay for convenience. San Chianski Mountain Range (GTA$ 715,000) is the cheapest and fits a Blaine County business cluster; Downtown Vinewood (GTA$ 1,358,500) suits players who live in the city. Compare all four on our Weed Farms hub.
