Ghosts Exposed is back for Halloween 2026 (live since October 1): one ghost appears per in-game hour between 20:00 and 06:00, each at one of two possible spots, except the 00:00–01:00 hour, which belongs to the final ghost. Every one you photograph with your phone camera pays GTA$ 20,000 and 500 RP. Ghost 10, Devin Weston, only appears at Paleto Cove after you've photographed the other nine.

All 10 ghost locations and times
Each ghost has a fixed one-hour window on the in-game clock. Ghosts 1–9 each spawn at one of two spots in their area, so check both if you don't see it straight away. Ghost 10 has a single spot.

Ghost 10 is listed at midnight because that is when it appears on the clock, but it is always the last one you can photograph.
How to photograph a ghost
Ghost hunting runs on the in-game clock, not real time. Ghosts only appear between 20:00 and 06:00 in-game, one per hour, and an in-game hour lasts about two real minutes. That is all the time you get at each location, so be in position before the window opens rather than driving across the map as it starts. Miss one and its window comes round again the next in-game night.
To capture a ghost:
Get to the location shown in the ghost's section below before its hour begins.
Check both possible spots (ghosts 1–9) until you see it.
Open your phone camera (Snapmatic) and take the photo with the ghost clearly visible in the frame.
Keep your distance. Getting too close makes the ghost vanish, so line up the shot from a comfortable range instead of walking up to it.
Ghosts 1–9 can be photographed in any order, which in practice means whichever window you can reach next. The final ghost is different: it stays hidden until all nine others are done (see ghost 10 below).
Ghost 1: Paleto Bay house (20:00–21:00)
The first ghost of the night appears between 20:00 and 21:00 in-game at a house in Paleto Bay. It shows up in one of two spots: at the window, or up on the house's broken roof. If the window is empty, look up before the hour runs out.
Ghost 2: Strawberry freeway camp (21:00–22:00)
Ghost 2 appears between 21:00 and 22:00 in-game at the homeless encampment under the freeway in Strawberry. Its two spawn spots are a short walk apart, east and west of each other, so you can check one and then the other without much running.

Ghost 3: Grapeseed barn (22:00–23:00)
Between 22:00 and 23:00 in-game, ghost 3 appears in a damaged barn in Grapeseed. Head for the upper level: it spawns on either side of the platform up there, so a quick look from one side to the other covers both spots.
Ghost 4: Miriam Turner Overpass, LSIA (23:00–00:00)
Ghost 4 appears between 23:00 and 00:00 in-game at the top of the Miriam Turner Overpass by Los Santos International Airport. This is an elevated spot, so work out how you'll get up the structure before 23:00. Its two possible spots are close together, about 15 m apart.
Ghost 5: El Gordo Lighthouse (01:00–02:00)
After the midnight hour, ghost 5 appears between 01:00 and 02:00 in-game at El Gordo Lighthouse. It spawns either at the very top of the lighthouse or by the barrier, so check whichever one is closer first and switch if it isn't there.
Ghost 6: Raven Slaughterhouse, Cypress Flats (02:00–03:00)
Ghost 6 appears between 02:00 and 03:00 in-game by the Raven Slaughterhouse in Cypress Flats. Look in the doorway with the Raven sign first; the other spot is up above the train tracks nearby.

Ghost 7: burnt-out house near the Zancudo River (03:00–04:00)
Between 03:00 and 04:00 in-game, ghost 7 appears at an abandoned, burnt-out house near the Zancudo River. It shows up either on the porch or at the back door, so circle the house if you don't see it from the front.
Ghost 8: Little Seoul church tower (04:00–05:00)
Ghost 8 appears between 04:00 and 05:00 in-game at the very top of the Little Seoul church tower, inside. Its two possible spots are a few metres apart on the map, so the real challenge is reaching the top of the tower in time.
Ghost 9: Tongva Hills waterfall (05:00–06:00)
The last regular ghost of the night appears between 05:00 and 06:00 in-game at the waterfall in Tongva Hills. It spawns either at the top of the falls or at the bottom, and since it's the final window before 06:00, don't waste time at the wrong end.
Ghost 10: Devin Weston at Paleto Cove (00:00–01:00, final ghost)
The final ghost is Devin Weston, the billionaire investor from GTA V, and he appears near the cliffs of Paleto Cove, where he meets his end in GTA V's story. Unlike the others, he has a single spot, and he only appears in the 00:00–01:00 in-game window once you have photographed the other nine.
When you take your ninth photo decides how long you wait. The midnight slot sits between ghost 4 (23:00–00:00) and ghost 5 (01:00–02:00): if your ninth photo is one of ghosts 1–4, Devin appears at midnight that same night (straight after ghost 4's hour), but if it is one of ghosts 5–9, you have to wait for the next midnight. The fastest route is to start at 01:00 with ghosts 5–9, photograph ghosts 1–4 the next evening, then catch Devin at 00:00. Photographing him completes the set and pays the GTA$ 50,000 completion bonus on top of the usual per-ghost reward.

Ghosts Exposed rewards and the 2X GTA$ bonus
Each ghost you photograph pays GTA$ 20,000 and 500 RP. Photographing the final ghost adds a GTA$ 50,000 completion bonus, which brings the full set to GTA$ 250,000 and 5,000 RP at the base rate. Completing all 10 also unlocks the Ghosts Exposed Jacket.
