The date is as solid as an unreleased game's date can be. Rockstar's official GTA VI site still says "Coming November 19, 2026", and Sony's product page states that "Grand Theft Auto VI is released for PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro on November 19, 2026". On the business side, Take-Two's most recent results (May 21, 2026) built its entire Fiscal 2027 guidance around the launch, with its product pipeline table listing Grand Theft Auto VI for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. No further delay has been announced.

What Time Does GTA 6 Unlock?

Rockstar has not announced a launch time. The date is official, the hour is not.

There is one real signal, and it shows up on both storefronts. Sony's PlayStation Store and Microsoft's Xbox catalog each carry a release timestamp for GTA 6, and both set it per market. Checked on July 24, 2026, the US listing shows 05:00 AM UTC on November 19, which is midnight Eastern. The UK listing shows 12:00 AM UTC on November 19, which is midnight in the UK. The German listing shows 11:00 PM UTC on November 18, which is midnight in central Europe. Sony and Microsoft carry the same values market by market, and every one of them lands on local midnight, which points at a rolling midnight unlock region by region rather than one synchronised global moment.

Read that as a strong hint, not a promise. Storefront release fields are set by the platform holder rather than by Rockstar, they can change without notice, and local midnight is also just the conventional way a store encodes a release date. Rockstar itself has said nothing about the launch hour. The surfaces we checked, its official GTA VI site, the Rockstar and Take-Two preorder press release, Sony's PlayStation Blog post and Sony's playstation.com game page, all give the launch date with no time attached.

The one time Rockstar did put a clock on something, it was preorders, which opened on June 25, 2026 "at midnight local time" in Rockstar's own wording. That is how a preorder rollout was scheduled, not a statement about how the game itself unlocks.

GTA 6 Countdown: Every Date That Matters

Counting down? Here is what is actually left on the calendar between now and launch. Preorders are already open, so the next fixed milestone is preload week in mid-November, then launch day itself, then the preorder bonus cutoff the day after.

Preload deserves a word. Rockstar's own announcement says players who preorder digital versions "will be able to begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026 to ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19, 2026". That is a full week to get the download done, which matters for a game this size. It is not early access: no edition Rockstar has announced grants early play, and no early-access window has been announced. Every GTA 6 Delay, in Order

GTA 6 has been delayed twice, and the whole history fits in one table.

Put together, the two delays moved GTA 6 from a Fall 2025 window to a fixed date in November 2026. Both were confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two directly on the day, in a press release and a Newswire post.

Will GTA 6 Be Delayed Again?

Nothing has been announced, and every official signal points to November 19, 2026 holding.

The evidence stacks up cleanly. Rockstar's site still says November 19, 2026. Take-Two's May 21, 2026 results built its entire Fiscal 2027 guidance on the launch, with Zelnick stating: "We believe Fiscal 2027 will establish new record levels of operating performance driven by the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI". The company's product pipeline table lists the date in black and white. And on the practical side, preorders are open and preload has a fixed date of November 12, which are not things you set up for a game you expect to move.

Honesty requires the other half, though: this date has moved twice before, and only Rockstar can change it. If it ever does, the announcement will come from Rockstar's own Newswire or its social channels, not from an insider or a countdown site. Anything else, including the 2027 rumour covered in the speculation section below, is noise until Rockstar says otherwise.

What Platforms Is GTA 6 On?

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. It is not coming to PS4.

There is no PC version announced. No date, no window, no storefront listing, no system requirements: PC simply is not part of the picture Rockstar has shared. If that changes, this page will say so.

Community speculation (unconfirmed)

Nothing in this section is confirmed by Rockstar; treat all of it as community talk until an official announcement lands.

Trailer 3 timing. Rockstar has not announced a third trailer. Forbes' Brian Mazique, in trailer-cadence analysis published mid-2026, projects a late July to mid-August 2026 window based on the gaps between previous trailers. The 2027 delay rumour. A rumour circulated in 2026 that GTA 6 would slip into 2027. Named insiders Reece "Kiwi Talkz" Reilly and NateTheHate both publicly dismissed it, and Rockstar and Take-Two have never indicated any move off November 19. It remains a rumour with no official weight behind it.
