GTA V handed you three playable leads. GTA 6 gives you two, and Rockstar's official synopsis sets the premise: Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them, and when an easy score goes wrong they land in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida, forced to rely on each other to make it out alive.

Jason Duval

Jason grew up around grifters and crooks, did a stint in the Army trying to shake off a troubled adolescence, and ended up in the Leonida Keys working for local drug runners. Rockstar's tagline sums him up: "Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder." According to Rockstar, meeting Lucia could be the best or the worst thing to ever happen to him.

Lucia Caminos

Lucia is the first woman Rockstar has written as a fully voiced lead in a mainline GTA. Earlier games did let you pick a female character: the 1997 original offered four, the Game Boy Color port of GTA 2 two more, and GTA Online lets you build one. Every one of them was a silent avatar rather than a written character, which is what makes Lucia the first. Rockstar has not named the performer behind her. Her father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and fighting for her family is what landed her in the Leonida Penitentiary. Now she is out and committed to "only smart moves from here," as Rockstar puts it. She wants the good life her mom has dreamed of since their days in Liberty City, and after the score goes wrong, the smart moves get a lot harder to make.

The Confirmed Supporting Cast

Beyond Jason and Lucia, Rockstar has profiled six more characters on its official site, which is how we get to eight profiles for nine named people. Cal Hampton

Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder's. Cal is an online conspiracy hobbyist whose idea of a good night is staying home, listening in on Coast Guard comms with a few beers and some private browser tabs open. Rockstar's tagline for him asks: "What if everything on the internet was true?"

Boobie Ike

A Vice City legend who turned his time in the streets into a legitimate empire spanning real estate, a strip club and a recording studio. Rockstar describes him as all smiles until it is time to talk business, and his tagline references the Jack of Hearts. What he is most invested in right now is his partnership with Dre'Quan Priest for Only Raw Records.

Dre'Quan Priest

More hustler than gangster. Dre'Quan dealt on the streets to make ends meet, but music was always the goal. He has signed Real Dimez to Only Raw Records and has been booking acts into Boobie's strip club while setting his sights on the wider Vice City scene.

Real Dimez

A rap duo, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school who turned shaking down local dealers into a career of rap tracks and a relentless social media presence. An early hit single with local rapper DWNPLY took them to new heights, and after five years and plenty of trouble they are signed to Only Raw Records.

Raul Bautista

A seasoned bank robber Rockstar describes as confident, charming and cunning, always hunting for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards. The catch, per Rockstar's own copy, is that his recklessness raises the stakes with every score.

Brian Heder

A drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys, still moving product through his boat yard with Lori, his third wife. Brian prefers to let others do his dirty work, and he is letting Jason live rent-free at one of his properties as long as Jason helps out with local shakedowns.

Other Characters Rockstar Has Named

Rockstar's own site copy names a handful of people and groups without giving them profiles, and they rarely make cast lists:

• Lori: Brian Heder's third wife, named in his profile.

• DWNPLY: the local rapper on Real Dimez's early hit single.

• Wyman: an "eccentric collector and local fixer" who sets a special commission to track down and restore abandoned classic and project cars, the Classic Car Collection from the Ultimate Edition.

• Macca the Gator: a character from a hit TV show within the Goodtime State, whose likeness appears on the Ultimate Edition's Goodtime Gear apparel. A fictional character inside the fiction, not a cast member.

• The PTT Youngin$: a crew with an Illegal Goods Store and a compound that features in an Ultimate Edition raid.

Is Tommy Vercetti in GTA 6?

Not as far as Rockstar has said. No returning character from any earlier GTA game has been announced, Tommy Vercetti included.

That said, Rockstar's own preorder and Ultimate Edition copy nods to Vice City's past twice. The Vintage Vice City Pack's weapon pattern is described, under the heading "Channel the Original Kingpin," as inspired by "Tommy Vercetti's iconic palm tree button-up." And the Ultimate Edition's Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers are described as "sourced from the Vercetti Estate."

The honest bottom line: those are descriptions of cosmetic items, not a statement that Tommy appears in the game. Whether any returning character shows up is TBC, and we will update this section the moment Rockstar says otherwise.

Who Voices Jason and Lucia in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not announced a voice or performance-capture actor for any GTA 6 character, so the entire voice cast is TBC. That applies to Jason and Lucia as much as the supporting cast.

We will name the performers here as soon as Rockstar does. Until then, treat any casting claim you see elsewhere as unconfirmed.

Community speculation (unconfirmed)

Nothing in this section is confirmed by Rockstar; treat it all as informed guessing.

• Trailer 3 and the cast. The confirmed part: Rockstar has not announced anything called "Trailer 3", and the next official video is "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look", premiering for Netflix subscribers on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET and then free on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the GTA VI site at 9 p.m. ET the same day. The speculation: fans expect it to expand the cast and the story, but Rockstar has said nothing about its content or length, so whether any new characters or profiles appear in it is unknown until it airs. • The voice cast hunt. Because Rockstar has named no performers, fans have been trying to identify the cast themselves from public casting and acting-profile listings, and names circulate on that basis. Rockstar has confirmed none of them, which is why we do not repeat any here.

• A Vercetti cameo. Rockstar's Tommy Vercetti and Vercetti Estate references in the edition copy have fuelled expectations of a returning-character cameo. Rockstar has confirmed nothing of the kind.
