How Jack O' Lanterns work

Walk up to a Jack O' Lantern and press the on-screen prompt to collect it, and you get a random trick or treat. Treats are GTA$2,500 to GTA$5,000 in cash, 1,000 RP, a full refill of health and armor, a batch of snacks, or a Peyote hallucination. Tricks are a shock, an energy pulse, a stoned effect, or an explosion. During the 2026 event, collecting Jack O' Lanterns pays 2X GTA$ and RP.

Every lantern respawns daily, with the reset at 06:00 UTC, so the same 200 can be collected again each day. The milestones count pickups within a single day: 10 in one day pays a standard GTA$50,000 every day you reach it and unlocks the Horror Pumpkin Mask on your first completion, and all 200 in one day pays an additional GTA$50,000 and unlocks the Pumpkin Tee. Rockstar has not said whether the 2026 2X bonus applies to these milestone payments.

Nearby lanterns make your controller vibrate, and the vibration gets stronger the closer you are. The Interaction Menu counter (Inventory, then Daily Collectibles, then Trick or Treat) tracks your pickups for the day but only displays up to 10; you can still collect all 200, so work through the numbered cards on this page to keep count of the rest.

Lanterns reset at 06:00 UTC each day and both milestones count pickups within a single day. The 10-lantern GTA$50,000 pays every day you reach it; Rockstar has not confirmed whether the all-200 bonus repeats. The standard milestone rewards are:

  • GTA$50,000 for 10 in one day (paid daily), plus the Horror Pumpkin Mask on first completion
  • An additional GTA$50,000 for all 200 in one day, plus the Pumpkin Tee
