GTA 5 100% completion FAQ
What counts toward 100% completion in GTA 5?
Rockstar's checklist has 161 entries in five groups: Missions (55%), Hobbies and Pastimes (10%), Strangers and Freaks (10%), Random Events (5%) and Miscellaneous (20%). Each group's share is split equally across its entries, and an entry counts only once it is complete. Only Franklin's Strangers and Freaks count, and not every mission in a chain is a separate entry.
Do heist approaches or the ending matter for 100%?
No, each heist counts once whichever approach you pick, and any one of the three endings completes the ending entry. Prep missions that only one approach plays are covered by that heist's row on this checklist.
How many random events do you need for 100%?
You need any 14, from a pool of 57 (60 for returning players on the enhanced editions). A failed event does not count, and a 15th event adds nothing to the percent.
Why does this page's percent differ from the in-game figure?
This page rounds down, counts each heist as one row and credits partial progress on rows with a target, so mid-game it can sit a little above or below the in-game figure. Prep missions that only one approach plays add nothing here until you finish that heist. Under the Bridge needs 25 of the 50 bridges: 12 of 25 counts as partial progress here but nothing in-game, so it can put this page slightly ahead. It never shows 100% until every row is complete.
Does my progress save?
Yes, progress saves in this browser. For now you enter counts for collectible rows such as Spaceship Parts and Letter Scraps by hand; once the GTA 5 Story map tracks a set, the markers you tick there count here too, and nothing is counted twice. Use the Progress and backups panel to save a copy you can restore later.
