Knife Flights 1–15

  1. Knife Flight 1: Pacific Bluffs Between the two hotel towers inland of the beach road.
  2. Knife Flight 2: Little Seoul A tight squeeze between two matching towers.
  3. Knife Flight 3: Del Perro Beside Del Perro Heights, lined up so one pass also clears gap 4.
  4. Knife Flight 4: Del Perro Beside Lombank West at the plaza edge, in the same pass as gap 3.
  5. Knife Flight 5: Rockford Hills Low down a narrow street with the movie studio just south; one of the hardest.
  6. Knife Flight 6: Rockford Hills Between Richards Majestic and Weazel Plaza.
  7. Knife Flight 7: West Vinewood Across the boulevard, right next to the Eclipse Towers gap (8).
  8. Knife Flight 8: Rockford Hills Between Eclipse Towers and the long building to its south.
  9. Knife Flight 9: Downtown Vinewood Down a narrow north-south alley between two blocks.
  10. Knife Flight 10: Hawick Between two adjoining tall blocks east of the main avenue.
  11. Knife Flight 11: Pillbox Hill Between the IAA building and FIB headquarters.
  12. Knife Flight 12: Pillbox Hill Between a big block and a rounded tower, east of gap 13; one pass clears both.
  13. Knife Flight 13: Pillbox Hill Along the east edge of a large L-shaped block, in the same pass as gap 12.
  14. Knife Flight 14: Pillbox Hill At the road junction southeast of a big block, in one pass with gap 15.
  15. Knife Flight 15: Pillbox Hill Up the street between two blocks, in the same pass as gap 14.

How knife flights work

Knife flights are a Story Mode challenge, and they sit alongside the 50 Under the Bridge routes. You only need 8 of the 15 for 100% completion. Clearing all of them, plus every Under the Bridge route, earns the Close Shave achievement.

A knife flight counts when you fly a fixed-wing plane through the gap with its wings vertical, on its side. The bank does not have to be perfect. Helicopters do not count. Michael, Franklin and Trevor can all fly them.

Fly them in any order, and most gaps work in either direction. A gap still counts if you crash straight after it, so a scraped wing on the way out costs you nothing. The Stats menu tracks how many of the 15 you have done.

Some gaps line up, so one pass clears two: 3 and 4 in Del Perro, 12 and 13, and 14 and 15 in Pillbox Hill. The numbers on this page are our own, and other maps and lists order the gaps differently.

Close Shave and 100% completion

Completing all 15 knife flights and all 50 Under the Bridge routes earns the Close Shave achievement (a trophy on PlayStation).

For 100% completion you need only part of each set: 8 of the 15 knife flights and 25 of the 50 Under the Bridge routes.

How do you do a knife flight in GTA 5?

Can you do knife flights in a helicopter?

No. Only fixed-wing planes count.
