How spaceship parts work

Spaceship parts are a Story Mode set. Omega, a stranger in Sandy Shores, asks Franklin to find them, and bringing back all 50 unlocks The Final Frontier, the mission that rewards the Space Docker.

Parts only become collectible once Franklin has met Omega. Omega shows up for Franklin after you finish Fame or Shame, and meeting him starts Far Out, a short cutscene in east Sandy Shores. Once that has played, the parts are out in the world, and Michael and Trevor can pick them up as well as Franklin.

The numbers on this page are our own. Parts have no in-game number, and other maps and wikis list them in different orders, so a part's number here may not match theirs. Collect them in any order you like.

Each part glows and gives off a hum, so listen out once you are close. Six parts are underwater (2, 21, 23, 28, 31 and 41): you can swim down to them. Several others sit high up on rooftops, a hospital helipad, a lake tower and the beams under a highway bridge, where a helicopter or a parachute is the easiest way up, and for a couple of them the only way.

Rewards and completion

Collecting all 50 parts unlocks The Final Frontier, which starts at Omega's trailer near the Ron Alternates Wind Farm. Finishing it gives Franklin the Space Docker and earns the From Beyond the Stars achievement (a trophy on PlayStation).

The full set also counts toward 100% completion, and Far Out and The Final Frontier both count as Strangers and Freaks missions.

How do you unlock spaceship parts in GTA 5?

Finish Fame or Shame, then meet Omega as Franklin in east Sandy Shores. That meeting is Far Out, a short cutscene, and once it has played the parts can be collected.

What do you get for collecting all 50 spaceship parts?

Can Michael or Trevor collect spaceship parts?

Six of them on our list: 2 in the Elysian Island port, 21 in the Land Act Reservoir, 23 at the Lake Vinewood dam, 28 in a sea cave on the east coast, 31 in a stream in Tongva Valley and 41 in the Alamo Sea off Sandy Shores. Swim down to each.

Do spaceship parts count toward 100% completion?

Yes. Collecting all 50 is one of the 100% completion tasks, and The Final Frontier counts toward the Strangers and Freaks missions.
