Everything You Need to Know About the Motorcycle Clubhouse Property in GTA V Online

Guide · Published

The Motorcycle Clubhouse is the required gateway to GTA Online's five MC businesses and lets you register as an MC President for free. It is not a moneymaker on its own: it has no real passive income, so buy the cheapest one (Great Chaparral, GTA$ 200,000) and put your money into the businesses it unlocks.

Plenty of listicles call the clubhouse "one of the best passive businesses." That's flat-out wrong. The clubhouse itself produces nothing: the cash stacked around the interior is decorative, exactly like the money piles in CEO offices, and the only cash it actually generates (Bar Earnings and Clubhouse Contracts) is pocket change. The real money sits behind the clubhouse laptop, in businesses like the Cocaine Lockup and Meth Lab.

Clubhouses arrived with the Bikers update in 2016 and got a modest expansion in The Criminal Enterprises in 2022. This guide covers all 12 locations, the two upgrades worth buying, and exactly how much (little) the clubhouse itself pays.

What a clubhouse unlocks

Owning a clubhouse lets you register as an MC President for free through the Interaction Menu (under "Motorcycle Club" by default). That's a genuine perk: CEO status requires an expensive office, while MC President costs nothing beyond the clubhouse itself. Your club supports up to 8 members including you; friends join as prospects and you assign roles from the same menu.

The clubhouse's real job is the laptop inside, running "The Open Road" network. This is where you buy and manage the five MC businesses, and it's the only way in. No clubhouse, no Cocaine Lockup, no Meth Lab, no Counterfeit Cash Factory. Think of the clubhouse as the key, not the vault. You can browse every clubhouse location and price on our MC Clubhouses hub.

Clubhouse locations and which one to buy

There are 12 clubhouses on Maze Bank Foreclosures, and here's the part that matters: every clubhouse is functionally identical. Same laptop, same upgrades, same contracts, same business access. Location is purely cosmetic and convenience, so paying GTA$ 495,000 for Hawick buys you nothing that GTA$ 200,000 in Great Chaparral doesn't.

Our pick is Great Chaparral: it's the cheapest at GTA$ 200,000, it sits centrally between the city and the Blaine County businesses, and it's free if you own the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack. Check the exact spot on our interactive map. Sandy Shores and Grapeseed are also popular for the same reasons: cheap and central. If you'd rather ride out of the city, fine, but know you're paying for scenery.

Renovations and upgrades worth your money

When buying a clubhouse you'll see a long renovation list. Only two entries are functional:

Upgrade

Cost

What it does

Custom Bike Shop

GTA$ 530,000

An in-clubhouse bike mod shop run by Zach Nelson. Works like Benny's or Los Santos Customs, motorcycles only.

Gun Locker

GTA$ 320,000

Lets you customize which weapons appear in your weapon wheel, the same locker offices get.

Everything else is cosmetic: murals run from free up to GTA$ 150,000, emblems cost GTA$ 50,000 to GTA$ 62,000, and there are interior styles plus a GTA$ 125,000 custom club name (renames cost GTA$ 50,000 later via the menu). Skip all of it unless you want the look. The attached garage stores up to 10 of your own bikes, with members' bikes parking separately, so there's decent storage even without spending another dollar.

The MC businesses you can run

This is why you're here. The clubhouse laptop unlocks five businesses, and they're not created equal:

Business

Setup cost

Notes

Cocaine Lockup

From GTA$ 975,000

The most profitable MC business. Buy this first.

Meth Lab

From GTA$ 910,000

Second of the profitable trio, worth running.

Counterfeit Cash Factory

From GTA$ 845,000

Third of the profitable trio.

Weed Farm

From GTA$ 715,000

Weaker earner; see the guide before buying.

Document Forgery Office

From GTA$ 650,000

The weakest of the five as a standalone earner.

Cocaine, meth and counterfeit cash are the ones that actually pay. All setup costs are "from" prices at each business's cheapest location; compare every location on the hubs for cocaine lockups, meth labs, counterfeit cash factories, weed farms and document forgery offices.

Budget accordingly: the full five-business base runs roughly GTA$ 4,100,000 on top of the clubhouse itself. Production, resupply and sell-mission mechanics are covered in depth in each linked business guide, so we won't repeat them here.

Clubhouse income: bar, contracts, and challenges

Let's be honest about the money the clubhouse itself generates, because it's not much.

Bar Earnings. The Criminal Enterprises (2022) added a working bar. Talk to Sindy to run the Bar Resupply mission (a small cash and RP reward), and while the bar is stocked it earns roughly GTA$ 5,000 per in-game day, collected from the cash bag behind the office desk. A restock lasts around 4 in-game days, and earnings cap at GTA$ 100,000, so it needs periodic upkeep. Nice bonus while you're passing through, nothing more.

Clubhouse Contracts. There are now 13 contracts, 11 from the original Bikers update plus Hit the Roof and Life and Deathbikes from The Criminal Enterprises. Three are posted on the noticeboard at a time, you start them from inside the clubhouse, and some (like Outrider) need 2 or more members. Payouts run roughly GTA$ 12,500 to GTA$ 34,000 per contract.

MC Work and Club Challenges. As President you can launch MC Work from the Interaction Menu in freemode (Deathmatch, Joust, Stand Your Ground, Caged In) and 7 competitive Club Challenges like Wheelie Rider, Criminal Mischief and Race to Point (GTA$ 10,000). These are for fun and roleplay, not profit.

Add it all up and clubhouse income is pocket change. If passive income is the goal, the answer is the Nightclub, the best passive earner in the game and accessible to MC Presidents and CEOs alike.

Is the MC clubhouse worth it?

Yes, if you want MC businesses, because it's mandatory: there is no other way to own a Cocaine Lockup, Meth Lab or Counterfeit Cash Factory. No, if you expect the clubhouse itself to earn. It won't, and anyone telling you it's a passive-income property is selling you the decorative cash stacks.

The playbook for the best MC clubhouse to buy in GTA Online is simple: grab Great Chaparral (or Sandy Shores/Grapeseed if you prefer), skip the cosmetics, add the Custom Bike Shop and Gun Locker only if you actually want them, then spend the real money on the profitable businesses and a Nightclub. FAQ

Is the MC clubhouse worth it in GTA Online?

Yes, but only as a gateway. It's mandatory for owning any of the five MC businesses and gives you free MC President status, and the profitable trio (cocaine, meth, counterfeit cash) are top solo earners. It's not worth it as an income property itself: it has no real passive income.

Which clubhouse is the best to buy?

Great Chaparral, at GTA$ 200,000 the cheapest of the 12, central to the Blaine County businesses, and free with the Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack. Every clubhouse is functionally identical, so location is purely cosmetic and convenience. Sandy Shores and Grapeseed are solid cheap-and-central alternatives.

Do MC clubhouses make passive money?

Essentially no. The cash stacks inside the clubhouse are decorative, like the ones in CEO offices. The only clubhouse income is Bar Earnings (roughly GTA$ 5,000 per in-game day while stocked, capped at GTA$ 100,000, requires resupply via Sindy) and contract payouts. The passive money comes from the businesses it unlocks, plus a Nightclub.

How do I become an MC president?

Buy any clubhouse, then open the Interaction Menu and register under "Motorcycle Club". Registering as MC President is completely free, unlike CEO status which requires an office. You can then invite players to join as prospects and assign them roles.

How many members can a motorcycle club have?

A motorcycle club supports up to 8 members, including the president. New players join as prospects, and the president assigns roles through the Interaction Menu.

What businesses can I run from a clubhouse?

Five: the Cocaine Lockup, Meth Lab, Counterfeit Cash Factory, Weed Farm and Document Forgery Office, all bought and managed from The Open Road laptop inside the clubhouse. Cocaine, meth and counterfeit cash are the profitable ones.

How much does it cost to set up all the MC businesses?

Roughly GTA$ 4,100,000 for all five at their cheapest locations: Cocaine Lockup from GTA$ 975,000, Meth Lab from GTA$ 910,000, Counterfeit Cash from GTA$ 845,000, Weed Farm from GTA$ 715,000 and Document Forgery from GTA$ 650,000. That's on top of the clubhouse itself, from GTA$ 200,000.
